Cullasaja River loop tour

Cullasaja River Gorge driving loop
From Atlanta

• I85 North to I985 (I985 exits to the left)
• Continue north on I985, after it ends it becomes GA 365
• Past Cornelia exit, US 441 joins GA 365 - stay on 441/365
• Continue through Tallulah Falls, GA and on to Clayton, GA
• Continue through Clayton, GA; Mountain City, GA; Dillard, GA and on to Franklin, NC
• At Franklin - right on US 64/Bypass to the east
• After crossing the Little Tennessee River and the Cullasaja River, exit to follow US 64 east
• Cullasaja River falls are at GPS points:
• 35°7'3"N 83°16'14"W (on right)
• 35.11530°N 83.26710°W (on right)
• 35°4'4"N 83°14'18"W (on right)- this one is well marked
• 35°4'18"N 83°13'44"W (on left)
• In Highlands, NC turn right onto NC 106 (Dillard Rd)
• Turn left onto Old Mud Creek Rd (which becomes Bald Mountain Rd, and then Sky Valley Rd)
• Turn right onto Tahoe Rd and park at end of road
• Return to NC 106 and turn left to continue towards Dillard, GA - becomes GA 246
• Turn south on US 23/441 to return via Ga 365 and I985

NOTE: the parking for the first 2 falls on the Cullasaja River are narrow and easy to miss.  Pay close attention!  Also, this road is narrow, winding, and can be dangerous...especially if a big truck is going the other way past you.  Be very careful of cars behind you, and those going down in the other direction.
